COMMANDER OF Zulu Company, 45 Commando Group during the Falklands War Mike Cole is returning to the Islands in June to yomp the original 45 Commando route from Port San Carlos to Stanley.

He will be accompanied by Simon and Gareth Spencer, the two sons of Corporal Spencer, David MacPherson, the brother of Marine MacPherson, and Colour Sergeant Trevor Law, the Royal Marine Mountain Leader currently based with the Falkland Islands Defence Force.

The yomp is in aid of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund www. rmctf.org.uk and they will make a contribution to SAMA (FI) who have sponsored the flights for Simon, Gareth and David.

Mr Cole will fly coutesy of the veteran's indulgence.

He said, "We have received wonderful support from Gary Clement, Jimmy Moffatt, Trevor Law and Ellen Davis in the Islands. Both Sukey Cameron and General Julian Thompson have also been very supportive."
