AN exhibition of Falklands War memorabilia and stories on display at St Mary's Parish Hall in Stanley was opened on Wednesday evening.

Left: The 'white card' Falkland Islanders were obliged to present when travelling through Argentina - their only airlink with the outside world. The Argentine authorities would not accept the Islanders' British passport.

The exhibition will run until April in order to allow next season's cruise ship visitors to peruse the wealth of objects and information that depict the 1982 events from the Argentine invasion to liberation by British Forces.

Museum Curator Leona Roberts said: "There are a lot more stories out there and more to be said than we had space for." She particularly thanked Fortuna Limited for their sponsorship, noting the expense of having images printed for display.

His Excellency the Governor Nigel Haywood opened the exhibition to invited guests, most of whom had contributed to the collection.
