THE Development Corporation (FIDC) has announced the appointment of a consultant who will undertake a master planning exercise for the Stanley waterfront area.

Three consultants are due to make an initial visit to the Falklands at the end of September to commence discussions with key stakeholders and organisations, said an FIDC spokesperson.

In early November there will be public consultation which may include a public meeting and other activities.
Marina Projects Limited working with their sub-consultants, PLC Architects is expected to develop a master-plan providing a comprehensive framework of urban design and development strategy for the Stanley Waterfront and Town Centre, said the spokesperson, adding it was expected to become a guide for "future developmental" considerations for the waterfront.
