Jubilee celebrations on a chilly Falklands' beach

Jubilee_beaconAN unexpected high tide and freezing weather didn't prevent hundreds of Falklands residents from gathering on Surf Bay on Monday night to enjoy the lighting of a massive beacon to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Food, music and liquid refreshments were available, and an interesting tot of hot spiced rum ensured the extremities were kept warm.
